Ned the Knitting Pirate is a fantastic tale about a young pirate named Ned who follows his own desires to knit, even when his captain and crew thinks it’s silly.

Ned the Knitting Pirate inner page

I really enjoyed the pirate shanty sung by the crew members. I made up my own tune and it was so popular (to me at least) that it got stuck in my head for the rest of the evening. The text was lyrical and flowed well. I liked that Ned didn’t care what the others thought of his hobby; he was happy being himself.

The illustrations are fluffy and beautiful. While the text was few on the pages, the graphics really made the words come to life. My kids enjoyed the details and I did as well.

Ned the Knitting Pirate is a fun, frolicking story. Your kids will enjoy it for the rhymes and good times. You will enjoy it because of the moral and experience of staying true to oneself.
